Travolta faces up to the bald facts

THERE’S no Grease required for John Travolta any more – and what a bald new look he’s chosen.

From that iconic Danny Zuko ‘elephant trunk’ to flowing grey locks, the actor, 64, has sported a number of hairstyles – and hairpieces – over the years. But now he’s finally gone au naturel.

Travolta has posted a selfie showing off his completely bald head only a month after he was pictured with a grey-flecked brown mop at an awards ceremony. The Saturday Night Fever star shared a picture of himself with daughter Ella Bleu, 18, on Instagram earlier this week and gave some of his followers a shock in the process.

Wearing a suit and bowtie and clutching a martini, he captioned the selfie simply: ‘I hope everyone had a great New Year!’

One follower praised the actor for his ‘fantastic look’, saying he ‘should have done this a long time ago’. Another told him he looked ‘younger and so much more handsome’ after losing the toupee.

The actor was seen with a full head of hair at a Hollywood handand-footprint ceremony for musician Pitbull only a month ago. He has taken on a wide range of hairstyles for roles over the years – including combed-back long hair for Pulp Fiction hitman Vincent Vega and shaving his head for 2010 thriller From Paris With Love.

Speaking about the look at the time, he said: ‘It’s a bold look and it allows me freedom to be bald.’

Travolta’s long-rumoured baldness has been exposed before, once during a 2011 family holiday and again in 2015, when a gymgoer photographed him at 3am.
