Police haven’t interviewed Salmond yet

ALEX Salmond is yet to speak to police over allegations of sexual misconduct as officers continue to probe complaints.

The investigation launched by the Scottish Government into the claims sparked a police inquiry but a source said Mr Salmond ‘has not yet been interviewed by police’.

The initial probe was examining complaints made by two female members of government staff.

A third police inquiry was revealed in November, with staff at Edinburgh Airport quizzed by detectives over allegations of inappropriate behaviour a decade earlier.

A spokesman for Mr Salmond said: ‘Alex wrote to the Chief Constable last September offering to assist his offers in their inquiries.

‘That remains the case. Beyond that we make no comment on police inquiries.’

A police spokesman said: ‘Our inquiries continue, we will not be commenting further.’
