Zoe vows to stay off social media

-

SHE is an avid Twitter user who frequently shares photographs of her glamorous life on Instagram.

But Zoe Ball, pictured, is ‘staying away’ from social media for a few weeks after she makes her debut as the Radio 2 breakfast host on Monday.

‘It doesn’t matter if you see ten positive comments, you’ll remember the one negative one and it will play on your own doubts,’ she said.

Her friend Jo Whiley was subjected to online abuse after she joined Radio 2’s Drivetime show but Ball, 48, said she is ‘incredibly excited’ to be replacing Chris Evans. She also hosted the Radio 1 Breakfast Show but said it feels like her whole career has been preparing for her new job, for which she is reportedly being paid £1.2million.

Ball has been quizzing other broadcasters on their morning routines so she can get through her three-hour show, which starts at 6.30am. ‘I’ve been asking them: “What time do you go to bed and get up? Do you nap? What do you do about going to the toilet?” And they all have different answers,’ she said. Miss Ball says she plans to snack on fruit to keep up her energy levels.
