With this fin. . . Charles’s godson to wed mermaid
MEGHAN Markle has made waves since tying the knot with Prince Harry, but soon there will be an even more extraordinary woman marrying into the Royal Family.
For I can reveal that Prince Charles’s godson, Nicholas Knatchbull, has become engaged to a mermaid.
Earl Mountbatten of Burma’s son and heir is already living at Broadlands — the stately home where the Queen spent her honeymoon — with Ambre Saint-Clare, above, who made her name as a ‘mer-lesque’ artiste, or performing mermaid.
‘Got engaged to Five Dimensional Nick,’ Ambre confirmed online, giving the date of their engagement as Christmas Day.
Five Dimensional Nick is the artistic moniker used by tattooed former drug addict Nicholas in his work as a musician. The announcement delighted friends of the couple, who have been courting for about a year.
One of their pals hinted they may have already been discussing some unusual elements for their wedding ceremony, writing: ‘Do you still want the dog to bring you your rings on the big day?’
Nicholas, 37, who has the courtesy title Lord Brabourne, has responded to the messages of congratulations, saying: ‘Thanks and massive love to all you well-wishers.’
This week he was photographed wheeling a shopping trolley as he and Ambre headed to nearby Romsey from Broadlands, his family’s 5,000-acre estate and 60room home in Hampshire.
Ambre runs meditation and holistic workshops as well as being a professional mermaid. Her memorable performances involved her donning a bespoke Swarovski crystal-encrusted mermaid tail for underwater engagements and photoshoots.
Nicholas — whose greatgrandfather the 1st Earl Mountbatten was Prince Philip’s uncle — was educated at Eton, where he helped mentor the young Prince William.
He has been engaged three times before, but friends are convinced mermaid Ambre will not leave him all at sea.
