Novak boost for accused official
NOVAK DJOKOVIC has stated that he is ‘comfortable’ with former player Justin Gimelstob retaining a senior role with the ATP Tour while under investigation on serious assault charges in America. Gimelstob has been allowed to remain as a player representative on the ATP board, despite having been arrested for an incident in October. He has pleaded not guilty and the case is ongoing. Speaking in his role as chairman of the ATP Player Council, Djokovic said: ‘I am comfortable, as are all of the council members, because that’s what we decided in our meetings and conference calls that we had on that topic.’
