Ewan’s girl shares very frank view of cheating dad
Ewan McGregor’s acrimonious divorce from his French wife, Eve Mavrakis, has taken an unexpected turn as his daughter, Clara, launches a virulent attack on the Trainspotting star.
It is the first time the 22-year-old model has explicitly lashed out against her father since he left her mother after 22 years of marriage for his Fargo co-star, Mary Elizabeth winstead, 34, in 2017.
On holiday with her mother and sister Esther, 17, Clara posted a beach snap of Eve in a bikini looking markedly younger than her 52 years. ‘My mother, ladies & gentlemen,’ she wrote, adding pointedly: ‘50 is the new 30 apparently.’
But her jaunty tone took a hostile turn when Clara responded to one of her followers, who commented: ‘Good to know you have the genes . . . keep her away from your boyfriends.’ Clara replied: ‘I keep her away from a ***** e men who leave my goddess of a mother,’ followed by a smiling face emoji. Until now she has tried to temper her criticism of her errant father. Last year, she branded U.S. actress Mary a ‘piece of trash’ online. She later apologised, and added of her 47-year-old father: ‘we are incredibly close and despite strongly disagreeing with how he’s gone about things, I’ll always love him, and I hope he’s happy, you know?’ In January last year, Ewan cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ when he filed for divorce from Eve, with whom he also has two adopted daughters Jamyan, 17, and anouk, seven. They continue to battle over joint and sole custody. In October last year, divorce documents claimed Ewan has been ‘voluntarily contributing to the living expenses’ of Eve and their children. However, Ewan has said he’s paying more than he is obliged to, while Eve believes she should be getting more.
