Dancing for joy: banking boss Dimon earns £24m

-

WALL Street banker Jamie Dimon was paid £24m last year after his company JP Morgan outperformed its rivals.

Father of three Dimon (pictured) trousered a £1.2m salary and £3.9m cash bonus. The rest of his pay was handed out in the form of so-called restricted stock units, which will turn into shares in three years’ time, with their final value depending on the performance of the bank. Overall the 62year-old’s pay was 5pc higher than in 2017.

The lender’s stock fell 9pc in 2018 as markets around the world were roiled by fears of an economic downturn. However, it performed better than major rivals. It was also the only one of the large Wall Street players to give its investment bankers and traders a pay rise last year.
