CASTER SEMENYA’S
legal team accused the IAAF of breaking an agreement ahead of the Court of Arbitration for Sport hearing that will determine if the double Olympic champion has to take medication to continue competing. The South African, 28, is in Lausanne to challenge the IAAF’s introduction of revised eligibility rules that set a limit on testosterone levels in athletes with disorders of sexual development. The case will be heard until Friday. Semenya’s lawyers reacted angrily to an IAAF press release that detailed its case and listed five experts it has called for the hearing, saying: ‘This information should not have been released.’ An IAAF spokesperson replied: ‘The IAAF does not believe the list of witnesses it will be calling is confidential, just their evidence at CAS.’
