Revealed, face of ‘all Muslims must die’ Surrey terror suspect

- By Jim Norton

A DELIVERY driver arrested over an alleged far-Right-inspired rampage through a village was named last night.

Vincent Fuller, 50, is being held by terror police after a man armed with a baseball bat and knife stabbed a teenager on Saturday.

Witnesses say a man was shouting ‘all Muslims must die’ during the incident in the village of Stanwell, Surrey. Police say the episode was ‘inspired by the far-Right’.

A 19-year-old was stabbed in the hand before a suspect was arrested by armed police. Last night, Fuller remained in custody on suspicion of attempted murder and racially aggravated public order.

Denise Knox, who was staying with him on the night of the attack, defended her partner.

She said: ‘He’s no more a terrorist than you or I. I’ll always stand by him no matter what they say he’s done because I’ll always love him. I’ll still be here.’

Police said they were called following reports of an armed man ‘acting aggressively and shouting racist comments’ just before 10.20pm on Saturday.

Less than an hour later, a teenage victim was slashed in a nearby Tesco car park. He was left with a serious injury to his hands after trying to defend himself.

Miss Knox, a retired recruitment consultant, said she had been told Fuller had posted a status update on Facebook relating to the New Zealand terror attack that killed 50 people. But she did not know whether it was ‘positive or negative’ because the social media giant removed it.

She said she had known Fuller for 40 years but they had started dating only two years ago.

Miss Knox added: ‘We spent Saturday together, it was a lovely day. He bought me flowers from Tesco, we were playfighting. He had a few beers, too many to drive, but he wasn’t in a drunken state.’

She said they were watching a movie together when she fell asleep and he went out.

Around midnight, she said she was shocked to find armed police banging on the door.

Detective Superintendent Nigel Doak, from Counter-Terrorism Policing South East, said: ‘This investigation... has continued to show the hallmarks of a terrorist event. It is believed the offender made racial comments and statements, promoting extreme far-Right views before carrying out the attack.

‘We believe the victim, a 19-year-old southern European man, may have been targeted due to his ethnic appearance.’

Mr Fuller was arrested by Surrey Police. He was further arrested on Sunday by counter-terror police under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000. They were last night granted a warrant to detain him until next Saturday.
