Caught on CCTV, blonde clubber who stole my £22k Range Rover

- By James Tozer

HAVING her handbag stolen on a night out was bad enough.

But worse was to come for Louisa Stevens when the thieves found it contained the keys to her Range Rover and her driving licence.

CCTV from outside 41-year-old Miss Stevens’s house shows a taxi stop after the bag theft.

A blonde in heels and a black dress gets out, unlocks the 4x4 and drives away in it. Her friends can be seen in the waiting cab eating takeaways. The car was later dumped nearby and Miss Stevens, a beautician, has released the film to trap the thief. She said yesterday: ‘I came back from holiday and met up with a few friends. It turned into a long night.’

The mother-of-one noticed her Radley handbag missing after she hung it on a peg near where she was dancing in a club in Bury, Lancashire, in the early hours of Saturday.

The bag was found outside a takeaway but her black Radley purse, mobile phone, car and house keys were missing. She returned home and got in with a spare key – but found her white Range Rover Evoque missing.

‘I watched the CCTV next morning,’ she said. ‘It was four or five girls. It is just one who gets in and drives off. I felt really numb.’

The car, which cost £22,750 two years ago, was traced after a man reported it blocking his garage. Chief Inspector Phil Spurgeon, of Greater Manchester Police, said: ‘We’d like to hear from anyone who has any information about the women who feature in it. We’d also like to hear from the taxi driver.’
