warbler Will Young seems to have an inflated sense of his own value. Talking about his decision to waltz out of Strictly Come Dancing in 2016, the singer claims: ‘I turned down £100,000, which I was being paid. [It was the] best thing I ever did because now I know, well, I can leave at any stage. There’s nothing worse than feeling trapped.’ BBC sources say Young actually lost £20,000 of his £25,000 fee for breaking his contract, a move that left his professional partner, Karen Clifton, seething. Only the winner gets £100,000.
