Bodies of man and woman discovered in flat after child raises alarm
POLICE were last night investigating the deaths of a man and woman after their bodies were found in a flat.
The grim discovery was made after the alarm was said to have been raised by a child around 10.50am yesterday.
Forensics officers were seen coming and going at the flat at Culbin Drive, Knightswood, Glasgow.
Neighbours claimed a child had rushed to a nearby house to alert police.
A property close to the scene was cordoned off and guarded last night by police officers in an unmarked car.
A police spokesman said the deaths were being treated as unexplained and inquiries were continuing.
No further details about the man and woman were released and officers said a post-mortem examination would be carried out in due course.
One local, who did not want to be named, said: ‘It’s just awful, a girl went into a guy’s house early in the morning for help and the police have been sitting outside all day.
‘They had to cordon it off because of the state of the girl and what she might have seen. She’s just a child.’
She added: ‘It’s not a bad area, this kind of thing doesn’t really happen here. There’s always people arguing and that, but not murder.’
Another resident said a riot van and dozens of police vehicles were on the street around 11am.
A police cordon remained in place around the block of flats last night and a bin storage area was also taped off.
It is understood the pair were found inside a first-floor property.
