Bungling dentist loses his licence

-

A DENTIST has been struck off after leaving a patient with eight years of pain in one of dozens of botched treatments.

Tobias Rinke, 55, has been banned from practising in the UK after bungled dental implants and root canal treatments.

He treated some patients at his practice in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, without doing full scans or checking their medical records – causing ‘pain and suffering’ with his ‘significantly’ substandard work, a tribunal heard.

Mr Rinke, pictured, former owner of Blairdaff Dental Practice in Inverurie, was branded ‘dishonest’ by the regulator and tried to cover his tracks by destroying patients’ dental records.

He was subjected to an investigation by the General Dental Council following complaints in 2017. The GDC’s report states: ‘Such conduct is damaging to the reputation of the dental profession.’
