A GIFTED music student finds herself staying with a teacher who has a world-class reputation for excellence. The student feels she has been very lucky, but that feeling doesn’t last long as she finds herself caught up in a nightmare. Killing Eve’s Fiona Shaw (pictured) takes the lead as the teacher, with Erin Doherty as the student, in THE MUSIC LESSON (RADIO 4, 2.15PM), a taut psychodrama that plays out in real time.
ANDY HAMILTON has — because he wasn’t looking where he was going — walked into a glass door, a lamppost and a wall — well, he thought it was a wall, but it turned out to be Mike Tyson. He recalls these incidents for the second programme of his new series ANDY HAMILTON SORT OF REMEMBERS
(RADIO 4, 6.30PM) as his topic this week is stupidity. Andy is a keen supporter of stupidity and, in this comic tour de force, he gives us many an example of what
he calls ‘the most primal force known to man’. A most entertaining listen.
DAVE PODMORE LOSES THE ASHES (RADIO 4,
11PM) has the dodgy cricketer — who will stop at nothing to line the pockets of his flannels — coming up with a cunning plan to get his greasy hands on the Ashes. Christopher Douglas stars as Podmore in a oneoff comedy from the team behind Ed Reardon.
