In need of a little tea and sympathy, Mr Hollywood?

- By Eleanor Sharples

AFTER a turbulent few weeks in his private life, Paul Hollywood probably needed a nice cup of tea and a sit down.

So helping his fellow Great British Bake Off stars promote the new series may have been the perfect pick-me-up.

Hollywood, 53 – who has just split acrimoniously from his 24year-old girlfriend – joined Prue Leith, Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig for an Alice in Wonderland-style tea party.

They posed for a moodily lit photograph in which judges Hollywood and Miss Leith, 79, sat TV and Radio Reporter in velvet chairs in front of a table adorned with a candelabra, tea cups – and plenty of cakes.

Miss Leith wore a long green and black dress while Hollywood was in a black suit, his bow tie undone around his neck.

Fielding, 46, as the Mad Hatter, and fellow presenter Miss Toksvig, 61, also dressed in maroon, stood behind the table that appeared to have been set up in a flower-strewn field. Hollywood shared the photograph on Instagram with the caption: ‘Not long now to wait... #gbbo.’

Last week he was dumped by Summer Monteys-Fullam, his girlfriend of two years, for allegedly pressuring her into signing a gagging order.

The pair have since been embroiled in an online war of words that resulted in the barmaid threatening legal action.

Hollywood’s wife Alexandra, 55, whom he married in 1998, was granted a divorce last month on the grounds of his adultery.

The Great British Bake Off returns to Channel 4 this autumn.
