Father injured on subway tracks after gang attack

A MAN was knocked unconsciou­s when he fell on to subway tracks after being attacked while with his daughter.

The 53-year-old victim and his daughter, 22, were assaulted by a group of ten men at Buchanan Street station, Glasgow, at around 9.30pm on Saturday.

British Transport Police said the man fell onto the tracks but was helped back on to the platform by members of the public before a train arrived.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which were described as ‘not lifechangi­ng or life-threatenin­g’.

The woman also attended hospital to be checked over but was not seriously injured.

Officers are trying to trace a suspect described as a white man, with dirty blond hair, in his late 20s. He is of medium build and 6ft tall.

One eyewitness tweeted: ‘Just saw a man pushed onto the tracks at Buchanan Street. Absolutely horrified to see people treat someone like that.’
