Former pin-up Linda’s age-defying pose... and praise for TV’s Lorraine
WITH her flat stomach and toned physique, it is hard to believe it is more than 40 years since Linda Lusardi found fame as a pin-up girl. The 60-year-old still looks fabulous in the sparkly silver bikini she wore at the height of her fame in 1988. Yesterday, she praised TV host Lorraine Kelly, 59, for showing off her beach body this week. The Mail told yesterday how the Scot had posted on Instagram a photograph of herself in a white bikini – taken during a holiday in India – alongside the caption: ‘This is what 59 looks like.’ Miss Lusardi, who recreated her bikini pose for Best magazine, told Christine Lampard, Miss Kelly’s stand-in on ITV’s Lorraine: ‘She’s giving me a run for my money. Isn’t that amazing? You’ve only got one body, you’re only here once, enjoy it. Stop worrying what other people think.’
The former glamour model, who began her career in 1976 and who has never had cosmetic surgery, said she was surprised to be approached by Best.
She said: ‘I was quite shocked that anyone was interested. They sent a few shots and said, “Can you recreate any of these?”. I thought, “I wonder if I’ve still got that [bikini]?”. I went into the loft and opened a bag… it looked like a hanky. But I got in it.’
The mother of two, who is married to actor Sam Kane, 50, also revealed how she keeps in shape, saying: ‘I use a smaller dinner plate, drink lots of water and try not to eat for 12 hours a day.
‘Don’t have breakfast until 11am. If you want biscuits, go for a banana.’
