THIS series about demolition is more interestin­g and entertaini­ng than you might expect. In a new episode, a 62m tower in Cambridges­hire — described by engineer Andy Dyson as the ‘best of British’ — is prepared for demolition. Once that’s done, the local church will once again be the tallest building in the village.

NEW YORK SLEUTH Elementary, 9pm, Sky Witness

THE evil of Odin Reichenbac­h has proven too great for Holmes to tackle with Watson, so, as the final season nears its end, he asks his imperious father, Morland (the excellent John Noble), for help. They’ve had a difficult relationsh­ip over the years, so it’s nice to see them working together.

SPY DRAMA X-Company, 9pm, History

HAS Alfred’s time as a PoW affected him more than he thinks? The clever spy takes a big risk in tonight’s new episode, and that sets off alarm bells for Aurora, who is still reeling over the fate of Rene. From the viewers’ point of view, though, it opens up an exciting new storyline.

FREEVIEW MOVIE John Wick, 9pm, 5Star

RUSSIAN gangsters steal the wrong car and kill the wrong dog in this noir-tinged action thriller. Both Mustang and beagle belong to John Wick (Keanu Reeves, pictured), a retired hitman whose only course of action is violent revenge. The cast includes Ian McShane and Willem Dafoe.
