Worker’s 200-mile protest walk

-

A FURIOUS Thomas Cook employee is walking 200 miles to Parliament in uniform to demand answers.

Cabin manager Rachel Murrell is one of 9,000 staff left high and dry when the firm folded at 2am on Monday. She received the news from a staff WhatsApp chat group.

Staff do not know when they will be paid or made redundant after receiving no official information from Thomas Cook. Mrs Murrell, who was at the firm for 20 years, left at noon on Friday from her home in Kingsteignton, Devon, with her dog Pip.

She said: ‘I feel disgusted by the way we’ve been treated. I want to stand up to this injustice. Directors have scarpered off with millions and employees have got nothing.’
