to Celtic Park but losing the late goal was a killer. ‘It’s probably the one game we’d look back on this season — especially me with the handball! ‘It was a weird night but it was a kick up the backside. We need to maintain a certain standard at this club throughout the season and it was a huge blow going out of the Champions League. ‘It was a disappointing performance — but we are in the Europa League and we’ve got Cluj yet again. ‘It’s about how we keeping improving and showing we have kicked on again since that night.’ Celtic got their Group E campaign underway with a battling 1-1 draw in Rennes, while Cluj caused shockwaves by beating Lazio in Romania. Asked if he was pleased to get Cluj again, Brown added: ‘I don’t know. When you look at the teams we’ve got, we could have had an easier group. But you have to play against top teams in this competition. Cluj are also a top side, as they’ve shown against us, and now Lazio.’ Meanwhile, Celtic right-back Moritz Bauer insists both he and Ryan Christie were denied clear penalties during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Hibs. The on-loan Austrian was felled by Daryl Horgan during the second half, ten minutes after Christie was similarly halted by Lewis Stevenson. ‘There was a situation before with Ryan where I expected to hear the whistle,’ Bauer told Celtic TV. ‘For me, I think you can give mine as well because he (Horgan) doesn’t touch the ball, he is only going for the man and he’s making it very difficult for me to put a good cross inside. ‘Small details like that were not in our fortune. ‘But we can improve our game a bit also, score more goals and wipe this kind of discussion out of the way.’
