Teen dead after being hit by van

A TEENAGER died and a man is fighting for his life after they were hit by a van in the east end of Glasgow.

The incident happened around 6. 5am yesterday near Celtic Park.

An 18-year-old – named locally as Liam Hendry – died at the scene and a 20-year-old man was said to be in a ‘critical’ condition at Glasgow Royal Infirmary last night.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: ‘Extensive inquiries, which are at a very early stage, to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.’
