Tale of two Wags: Rebekah’s blubbing at the airport as Coleen goes clubbing
WIPING away tears, this was the moment Rebekah Vardy arrived back in the UK to face the latest round of her explosive row with Coleen Rooney.
The pregnant Wag was clearly upset as she landed at Heathrow on Saturday after cutting short her family holiday in Dubai.
The wife of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy made her way through arrivals hand in hand with the footballer, who remained stony-faced.
A far cry from her usual glamorous look, the 37-year-old’s face appeared red from weeping and she wore a baggy grey tracksuit, while her hair was scraped back in a ponytail.
Mrs Vardy has been left humiliated by accusations from Mrs Rooney that she has been leaking stories about her to The Sun. Mrs Rooney, 33, who is married to former England skipper Wayne Rooney, turned detective in a bid to confirm her suspicions.
She revealed last week how she had blocked everyone but Mrs Vardy from her private Instagram account and posted a number of false details about her private life as a test.
The mum-of-four then publicly named Mrs Vardy as the culprit in a sensational statement.
In contrast to Mrs Vardy’s tearful arrival back in the UK, Mrs Rooney wore a leather mini-dress as she drank champagne until 4am on Saturday at a party with other Wags in Manchester. The pair are now set for a potentially vicious legal battle after Mrs Vardy revealed her lawyers were dealing with the accusation.
But Mrs Rooney appears to be sticking to her guns, calling her evidence ‘irrefutable’. A source told the Mail on Sunday: ‘Coleen’s view is, “Bring it on”. She has got the evidence – it’s all there. Coleen’s evidence is bullet-proof and she stands by it all. If Rebekah wants to sue, she’s welcome to.’
Mrs Vardy, who grew close to Mrs Rooney when their husbands played alongside each other for England, has denied the claims and suggested the Instagram account was hacked.
