Have chefs’ kids cooked up recipe for romance?
THEir parents are chefs – one famed for his fiery Scottish temper; the other for his flamboyant italian humour.
But now Gordon ramsay’s daughter is rumoured to be dating Gino D’Acampo’s son in a ‘uniting of two dynasties’.
renfrewshire-born ramsay was quizzed about the pair on iTV’s Jonathan ross Show on Saturday night, during which the host hinted Matilda (Tilly) ramsay, 17 and Luciano D’Acampo, also 17, were romantically involved.
The 52-year-old chef attempted to play down the potential romance between the two, claiming they were ‘friends’.
D’Acampo, 43, and ramsay have been friends for more than a decade and have filmed TV shows together.
ross asked: ‘is this true that there may well be a uniting of the two dynasties, ramsay and D’Acampo, that your children are now friends?’
Looking uneasy and adjusting his tie, ramsay quietly laughed: ‘Can we move on?’
ross asked: ‘is this an arranged marriage we’re looking at? Because is it Gino’s son, who by the way is a very handsome young man, Luciano i believe, and he is dating your daughter at the moment? So Matilda and Luciano, the young ramsay and the young D’Acampo, are an item?’
ramsay responded: ‘A f ****** nightmare. Let me tell you why, we were driving through San Francisco and we were face timing Luciano and i said, “Ciao Luciano, how’re you doing”, “Yeah Gordon, how’re you doing”, “Good luck with school” and all that stuff.
‘Then all of a sudden Tilly pops up behind him, “Hi Dad!”, and they were out having lunch and it was like no, no.’
But when asked by ross if there were dating, ramsay said: ‘Listen, they’re friends, let’s hope it stays there.’
ross said: ‘i’ve heard they’re more than friends.’ ramsay replied: ‘Stop it.’ ross added: ‘it’s a lovely thing. Joking aside, i know you really like Gino and it’s nice that your children are friends.’
ramsay said: ‘No, that means Tilly has Gino D’Acampo as a fricking father-in-law.’
