Beards may help com­bat bald­ness

in the first study of its kind, re­searchers at the Der­ma­clinix hair and skin clinic in Delhi, in­dia, com­pared head, beard and chest hair in trans­plan­ta­tion pro­ce­dures.

Writ­ing in the Jour­nal of cu­ta­neous And Aes­thetic surgery, they said that, over the first two months, the sur­vival rates were high­est for beard hair (95 per cent), fol­lowed by scalp (89 per cent) and chest hair (76 per cent).
