Election we really need...

THe SnP is desperate to get rid of boris Johnson and perhaps see a labour minority government ‘ripe’ for a bit of horse trading – with Indyref 2 the price for nationalists lending support in a loose coalition.

Conveniently, the SnP ignores the fact that only some 25 per cent of the Scottish electorate voted for it in the last election, so its claim to represent Scotland is totally invalid.

Many of the 75 per cent who didn’t support the nationalists are as desperate to see the back of the SnP as they are of ousting the Tories. If, as SnP chiefs claim, they have a mandate from the Scottish people for Indyref 2, why don’t they confirm this by calling an early Holyrood election? Simple answer – just like labour, they fear voter retribution. GRAHAM WyLLIE, Greengairs,
