Ge­orGe Michael vowed to ‘get his life to­gether’ in a song recorded shortly be­fore he died.

This Is How (we want you To Get High), was part of his last record­ing ses­sion be­fore his death aged 53 on Christ­mas Day in 2016.

The pre­vi­ously un­heard track in­cludes lyrics about al­co­hol, drugs and strug­gling with life. An­nounc­ing the song’s re­lease, his sis­ters, fa­ther and man­ager said: ‘This new track we proudly send as his gift to you this sea­son to bring you all love and fes­tive joy, who­ever you wor­ship, who­ever you love.’

The song will soon be fol­lowed by Last Christ­mas, a film in­spired by Michael’s mu­sic, which ar­rives in cin­e­mas next week. star­ring Dame emma Thomp­son and Game of Thrones star emilia Clarke, it is de­scribed as ‘a love let­ter’ to the singer, who died of heart and liver dis­ease.
