Time to moo-ve

Scottish Daily Mail - - Entertainments -

THE ‘cow pat-io’ article about the couple who woke up to find a bull in their back garden (Mail) reminded me of a similar incident that happened to friends. Ten new houses were built on land bought from the local farmer.

My friends bought one and lovingly created a small garden with a rockery, as did the other proud new home-owners.

Sadly, on more than one occasion, they would get up in the morning or come home from work to find that the cows from the field next door had broken down the fence, trampled all over their new gardens, torn the clean washing from the clothes lines and left cow pats everywhere.

Everyone was very upset, but when they complained to the farmer and asked him to do something about it, he replied: ‘The cows were here before thee.’
