Can voters sue Sturgeon?
The permanently outraged SNP is proposing to use litigation to try to settle its latest grievances.
Mike Russell, Secretary for Constitutional Relations (which is a reserved matter), threatens a court case if the UK Government does not grant a Section 30 order to hold another independence referendum.
Miss Sturgeon is threatening to take a broadcaster to court for excluding her from a TV debate between the Prime Minister and the leader of the opposition. It is worth noting that Miss Sturgeon is not a candidate in the General election.
Under which laws are these actions to be tabled? Which law prescribes that a politician in a devolved administration has an inalienable right to force a broadcaster to give her airtime in a UK election?
Which law prescribes that the head of a minority devolved administration has the right to subject Scots to another divisive referendum?
Perhaps litigation isn’t such a bad idea. We could take Miss Sturgeon to court for subverting the edinburgh Agreement, failing to discharge her responsibilities in devolved areas, spreading brazen porkies about Scotland’s financial position and its chances of seamlessly entering the EU. Anyone up for a crowdfunder?
Jill Stephenson, edinburgh.
I Assume the SNP will want any TV debate it is involved in to be on the new BBC Scotland channel? phil JOHNSON, Bishopton, Renfrewshire.
