White elephant

THOUGH I disagree with almost everything Labour proposes, on the issue of Trident I agree with Jeremy Corbyn. Trident is an expensive white elephant that will not protect us from nuclear attack.

We have depleted our Armed Forces to the level where they can’t protect our shores from illegal immigrants, let alone terrorists.

For the money we have spent on Trident, we could have beefed up the Armed Forces. We are no longer the world’s policeman and it is time we woke up to the new defence reality.
