Your new home DID YOU KNOW?

-

THERE are two main types of McCarthy & Stone developments to choose from…

THE FIRST is in a Retirement Living community – designed for the over-60s, with spacious, light-filled modern apartments and bungalows normally built close to local amenities and transport links. The aim is to provide relaxed places to live where everyone can socialise as much, or as little, as they choose. Every high-spec apartment has its own front door, of course, with a camera door-entry system, at the main entrance, for extra security. There’s usually a choice of one- or two-bedroom apartments (with one or two bathrooms) and plenty of storage space – think deep cupboards and stylish walk-in wardrobes in many locations.

A house manager is there, at varying times during office hours, to ensure the development is well maintained and runs smoothly and there’s normally a guest suite where your visitors can stay (often from just £25 a night). What makes McCarthy & Stone’s Retirement Living developments build such a strong sense of community are the roomy communal lounges on-site. If you’re in the mood, it’s where you can go for a coffee, a chat, or an activity arranged by your house manager or your neighbours. Some residents pop into their communal lounges every day. Others only now and then. It’s entirely up to you.

THE SECOND type of community is known as Retirement Living PLUS. It’s popular with the over-70s and has all the benefits of Retirement Living, with some useful extras – for a start, a chef-run restaurant or bistro on-site, which you can use as much or as little as you choose. Some residents go there most days. Others like to cook in their own kitchen, or eat out. The choice is yours.

Pick a Retirement Living PLUS property and you’ll find friendly staff on the development 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You’ll also get help with domestic chores every week. Just say if you prefer help with shopping, cleaning or laundry and the jobs will be done. Pop into the ‘wellbeing suite’ for treats like hairdressing. Ask staff about extra, tailor-made personal care and support packages if you need one. And there’s a 24-hour emergency-call service, just as there is on every McCarthy & Stone development.

With Retirement Living PLUS you also enjoy all the social benefits. A lot of friendships are made in the restaurant, bistro or communal lounge – or out in the development’s well maintained gardens. Mingle if you choose. Relax in your own home if you want. And let McCarthy & Stone take care of some of the hassle of home ownership.
