Reid’s taken Bulls by the horns
GORDON REID has had an eventful weekend. He continues to give his all in the Super6 semiprofessional league with the Ayrshire Bulls. Then yesterday he was a hero by helping rescue a man from a fire in the man’s home. All in a weekend’s work for the Scotland international. After such a distinguished professional career with Glasgow Warriors and London Irish, he may have been forgiven for relaxing a bit when he stepped down a level to join his hometown club. The exact opposite has been the case with the Scotland prop, who blotted his copybook slightly by picking up a yellow card but still helped the Bulls to a 29-10 win away against the Southern Knights on Saturday. There were also more than 1,000 fans at Meggetland to watch the Boroughmuir Bears pick up all five points against Heriots in a thrilling 34-31 win.
