Cake Box’s top-tier sales
CAKE Box sales soared 27pc to £1.7m as the bakery chain began selling ‘red velvet cakes’.
Revenues at the company, which specialises in making egg-free fresh cream cakes, rose 6pc to £8.8m and it had 122 franchise stores open by September 30. Since then it has opened five more branches – including its first in Wales.
Cake Box was founded in east London in 2008 by two cousins after one of their daughters asked if she could have an egg-free cake. Shares in the group, which listed on AIM last June, surged 10.4pc, or 14.5p, to 153.5p.
