Prince’s 5.50am email to Maxwell ‘to ask you about Virginia Roberts’
PRINCE Andrew approached paedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘fixer’ Ghislaine Maxwell for information about Virginia Roberts years after his accuser first made allegations about him, leaked emails show.
In one message, timed at 5.50am on January 3, 2015, the prince asked the socialite daughter of newspaper tycoon Robert Maxwell whether she was free for a discussion about Miss Roberts.
He wrote: ‘Let me know when we can talk. Got some specific questions to ask you about Virginia Roberts.’ In her reply, seen by BBC Panorama, Miss Maxwell says: ‘Have some info – call me when you have a moment.’
Only a day before the message about Miss Roberts,
Miss Maxwell wrote Andrew a cryptic email saying: ‘Can’t believe bb was left in the cold.’
She signed the message with a smiley face emoji, alongside the initial ‘G’ and a kiss. It is not clear to whom ‘bb’ refers.
The correspondence is the latest embarrassing blow for Andrew, highlighting his ties with Miss Maxwell at least four years after his friendship with Epstein allegedly ended in 2010. It also took place four years after Miss Roberts first went public with accusations against the royal in 2011.
Epstein’s victims have claimed Miss Maxwell was at the heart of his abuse network, allegedly aiding the trafficking of women at his properties across the world.
Embarrassing: Emails show that early on January 3, 2015, Prince Andrew got in touch with Ghislaine Maxwell saying he had ‘specific questions’ to ask about Virginia Roberts. Epstein’s ‘fixer’ replied that he should get in touch with her when he had a moment as she had ‘some info’
