Today’s poem

Scottish Daily Mail - - Freeview Primetime Planner -

I want our great kingdom to be reunited, I don’t want it riven apart. I want all the rancour (which is uninvited) To cease, and a good time to start. I want politicians to stop their complaining, To seek, and to find, a way through. And whether you favour exit or remaining, Keep calm and decide what to do. Stop all the bitterness, sort out a solution, Speak to each other, be fair. Then as the anger finds diminution, Maybe the right answer is there. To all politicians in our lovely country Let’s say ‘Please slow down and unite, Stop all the wrangling, cease the effrontery, Try to decide what is right.’ (I suggest you stop looking at all social media Which doesn’t sound social to me, And maybe start reading an encyclopaedia, The words are much better, you’ll see). Most people are tired of intense aggravation And many MPs are as well, So please think first of all of our wonderful nation — And do not consign it to hell!
