Abuse has no gender

Cryptic message from Love Island star Caroline Flack’s ex-fiance after she’s accused of beating up new boyfriend

- By Jim Norton

TV presenter Caroline Flack, who was arrested last week for attacking her boyfriend, was mired in yet more controversy yesterday after her exfiance posted ‘abuse has no gender’ on social media.

Andrew Brady, 29, uploaded pictures of a confidentiality agreement, thought to be from when he and Miss Flack were engaged, with the cryptic message.

It comes after the Love Island presenter, 40, was charged with assault following a drunken row with her tennis coach boyfriend Lewis Burton, 27, at 5am last Friday.

Further details emerged yesterday suggesting Miss Flack had accused her lover of cheating on her with a 60-year-old client.

ITV bosses are said to have held crisis talks about the presenter, with filming due to begin on the winter version of Love Island in South Africa a fortnight after she is due to appear in court.

Miss Flack has had several high-profile relationships, having dated England rugby player Danny Cipriani and singer Harry Styles when he aged just 17. Last year she became engaged with former Apprentice candidate Mr Brady after less than six months of dating – but they split soon after.

It ended after a string of arguments, including a fight in which he called 999 after claiming Miss Flack had threatened to kill herself. She denied the accusation and he later apologised for ‘causing trouble’.

Mr Brady, who has moved to Australia, later branded the relationship ‘toxic’ and had a tattoo of her initials removed from his forearm. After details of her arrest emerged, he tweeted on Saturday night: ‘Sad that I’m not more surprised by the news.’

He has previously claimed that leaving the TV star may have saved his life. He did not offer any further information.

Just hours later, Mr Brady uploaded to Instagram a three-page non-disclosure agreement – with all names redacted – with the caption ‘#abusehasnogender’

The NDA is dated March 14, 2018 – around the time the pair were dating. Among the list of information the signatory is not allowed to reveal is ‘the existence of this letter and anything related to it’.

A spokesman for Miss Flack said: ‘Any suggestion Mr Brady has made that our client is in any way abusive would be false and defamatory.’

Police were called to Miss Flack’s £1million flat in Islington, north London, at around 5am last Friday just hours after Miss Flack and Mr Burton had been enjoying a night out. Witnesses said as Mr Burton was led out the property he shouted: ‘Bruv, I was normal until I met her.’

Photos of Miss Flack’s front door showed what appeared to be blood marks.

Miss Flack – who has dated Mr Burton for six months – was charged with assault by beating and has been bailed to appear in court on December 23. Yesterday, The Sun on Sunday reported the incident was a ‘stupid drunken row that got out of control’ caused by a misunderstanding over text messages from a 60-year-old woman Mr Burton was coaching.

A source told the paper: ‘Caroline got paranoid. She convinced herself Lewis was flirting with another woman.’

As tempers flared, Mr Burton was hit by a mobile phone and some glass was smashed – injuring both of them. Mr Burton called an ambulance – but was ‘mortified’ when police arrived as well.

The source said: ‘Neither Lewis nor Caroline wanted the matter to go any further.’

As part of her bail terms, Miss Flack and her boyfriend are not allowed to contact one another directly. However, Mr Burton has since posted a picture of them hugging on his Instagram.
