JACK ONLY HAS EYES FOR KILLIE

- By MARK WILSON

RYAN JACK insists Rangers must deploy tunnel vision against Kilmarnock today and banish any thoughts of Sunday’s eagerly anticipated Old Firm showdown. The Ibrox midfielder is well aware of the hype building among supporters ahead of a crucial visit to Celtic Park in the final game before the winter break. Jack, however, has stressed that the Rangers players cannot let their minds wander when they first

tackle opponents who have caused them plentiful problems in the past. Steven Gerrard’s side leaked 10 points in their four Premiership meetings with Kilmarnock last season and required a last-minute goal from Connor Goldson to secure victory in this term’s opening encounter. ‘We can’t look past it and we have always been that way,’ said Jack. ‘If you do start looking ahead or getting ahead of yourself then you will get caught out. ‘Kilmarnock have always given us a tough game so there is no room for us to be thinking ahead, about going to Parkhead, playing Celtic in an Old Firm, the last game of the year. All focus has got to be on Kilmarnock. ‘Even at the start of the season at Rugby Park, we scored in the last minute. So, as I said, they always give us a tough game. ‘But we are fully prepared for it. We have done our work all this week in training and hopefully we get the outcome we want.’ Rangers have Alfredo Morelos available after his one-game suspension, while midfielder Steven Davis and winger Jordan Jones are both fit for selection. Jones has been out since he injured his knee making a wild, red-card challenge on Celtic’s Moritz Bauer in the Old Firm match on September 1. ‘It’s positive,’ said Jack of the Northern Ireland team-mates. ‘They are two international players and they both add different qualities to the team. ‘I’m sure that if Jordan works hard and shows that he has learned from his mistakes, there is no doubt that he can play a massive part for us.’
