Ulrika: I feel like I’ve lost my virginity again – at the age of 52!

SHE has admitted that her sexless marriage left her feeling ‘repulsive and rejected’.

But Ulrika Jonsson has revealed she has had sex again with a new partner after five years – likening her coupling with the man she met on social media to ‘losing my virginity all over again’.

The TV presenter, 52, said she feels ‘rejuvenated’ after becoming ‘unintentionally celibate’ during her 12year marriage to Brian Monet.

‘After a marriage set against a barren sexual landscape and a five-year hiatus – I have had sex,’ she wrote in The Sun.

‘Two years ago I had no expectations of ever having sex again. I had been left feeling so repulsive and rejected over the past years that the chances of having a physical experience again were slim to none.’

Miss Jonsson turned to an online dating app last year following her third divorce. She revealed that she had sex only once in eight years with Mr Monet. She said going through the menopause affected her libido and she was left ‘mourning’ the ‘deeply sexual’ person she once was. ‘My feelings of desolation and rejection were partnered with an ageing body.

‘A body which has, admittedly, brewed and then expelled four children and suffered Mother Nature’s last laugh in the shape of the menopause – which has resulted in a very palpable loss of body confidence.’

It is unclear how she met the unidentified man, but she said their romantic encounter, which did not happen on their first date, ‘revived’ her after she was left worrying she wouldn’t ‘remember what to do or even how to do it’.

‘The idea that I would even be capable of feeling aroused again had been so unbelievable that I felt quite shocked when it happened,’ she said.

‘The only way I can describe it is as if my body had been completely shut down and someone had come along with a defibrillator (not a euphemism, by the way) and suddenly I was brought back to life.’

She encouraged other women in similar situations to ‘get laid’, claiming it gave her an ‘entirely new lease of life’. Miss Jonsson married Mr Monet in 2008 and the couple’s son Malcolm was born the same year. Her other children are 25, 20 and 15.

She previously said she had even considered asking her husband if she could have an affair in ‘absolute desperation’ at the lack of passion in their marriage.
