COSTA CHAOS... AND A BIG DIY DAY OUT

- Daily Mail Reporter

IT looked like a return to the daily grind as queues of cars lined up to get their caffeine fix from a newly reopened Costa Coffee drive-through.

Vehicles snaked out of the grounds of the Cameron Toll branch in Edinburgh and down an adjoining road, with customers facing a minimum one-hour wait to be served their drinks.

The drive-through is one of two outlets the chain has reopened in the capital.

The move follows a successful trial at four Costa cafes in England, with the Edinburgh branches among 32 across the UK reopening on Saturday.

Elsewhere, a huge queue formed outside a branch of DIY giant Homebase at Craigleith, Edinburgh.

It comes after the chain joined a growing number of companies that have begun trading again after police updated their guidance to say DIY stores could reopen their doors. The Craigleith store is one of 20 Homebase branches to have reopened nationwide.
