Piers off work as he takes corona test

PIERS Morgan has stepped down as the host of Good Morning Britain while he waits for the results of a coronavirus test.

The presenter, 55, right, started feeling unwell over the weekend and told social media followers he will stay away ‘out of an abundance of caution’.

Morgan hopes to be presenting the ITV show again tomorrow, barring a positive test.

He posted last night: ‘On medical advice, and out of an abundance of caution for a mild symptom that arose in past 48hrs, I’ve had a test for Covid-19 and so won’t be working until I get the result back.’

He had been commuting into the West London studio every morning before doing his own make-up and sitting 2m away from co-host Susanna Reid.
