Q I’M desperate to cut my fringe. I know it could end in disaster, but are there any fail-safe tips to ensure I get a halfdecent result?

A DESPERATE times call for desperate measures. every hairstylist’s first instinct is to tell you to hold out as there is indeed major scope for disaster.

However, there are ways to do a simple trim if your fringe is not too high-fashion or super-sharp, and some top stylists have kindly shared their how-to’s online.

Whatever you do (unless you just don’t care), don’t attempt a brand-new fringe by yourself. and stay away from the kitchen scissors: you need extremely sharp, slim, pointy ones.
