Son enters the fray in epic £453m split battle

- By Vanessa Allen

A CiTY trader whose rich parents are feuding over a £453million divorce asked a high Court judge to keep his finances private from his mother yesterday.

Temur Akhmedov, 26, a commodities trader in London, did not want his mother Tatiana to see any of his transactions worth less than £401,000 during her legal fight with his father.

Mrs Akhmedova, 52, has accused her ex-husband and son of conspiring to stop her receiving the record divorce payout, and wants to see all her son’s transactions over £80,500.

Lawyers for Temur said he received financial support from his father Farkhad, a billionaire oil and gas tycoon, and said payments of £81,000 were ‘neither here nor there’. They also asked the high Court to ban the Press from reporting his finances.

Mrs Akhmedova was awarded £453million in her divorce settlement from her ex-husband in

‘Biggest ever settlement’

2016 after a judge ruled she was entitled to 41.5 per cent of his fortune following the breakdown of their 20-year marriage.

it was the biggest ever settlement award in the history of UK divorce cases, but London’s high Court was told she has only received £5million so far.

Mr Akhmedov, 64, has argued that he and his ex-wife married and divorced in Russia, and that they were both Russian citizens during their marriage.

Mrs Akhmedova later became a British citizen and launched her claim through the English legal system. she has now taken action against her son too. Mr Akhmedov and his son have denied conspiring to block her settlement.

Lawyers for Temur asked the court to ban an ‘unlawful’ funding deal which financed Mrs Akhmedova’s claim.

Meanwhile Mrs Akhmedova also denies any wrongdoing and the hearing continues.
