DETECTIVE DUO Vienna Blood, 9pm, BBC2

ANOTHER chance to see this period crime thriller, set in the Austrian city of Vienna in the early 1900s. Matthew Beard’s junior doctor and Freud disciple assists a gruff police detective (Juergen Maurer, pictured near right with Beard), providing insights into the criminal mind. It covers some intriguing cases, but there’s a lot about it that feels all too familiar.

Blue Murder At St Trinian’s, 3pm, BBC2

THE first of Launder and Gilliat’s three sequels to The Belles Of St Trinian’s, this follows those louche sixth-formers as Flash Harry’s marriage agency attracts the attention of an Italian lothario and sees the girls heading to Rome. George Cole (pictured) is Harry, who was played by Russell Brand in the 2007 St Trinian’s remake.
