LIVING IT UP IN THE BIG SMOKE

RIHANNA has lived in London for much of the past three years. Her residency was a closely guarded secret, and only came to light when a Sainsbury’s bag for life was spotted in one of her Instagram pictures in May 2019. She is a neighbour of Sir Paul McCartney in North-West London’s St John’s Wood. She rents a sevenbedroom mansion (right) with a gym and staff quarters for £16,000 a week. It is said to be worth £30 million. Sources indicate that London is the perfect place for her, because she is only a short hop from LVMH’s Paris headquarters. She is a regular at the Laylow private members’ club in West London, where she has been seen with boyfriend A$AP Rocky. She was also one of the last to leave the post-Baftas party at the Chiltern Firehouse this year, at 6.30am. Other haunts include Belgravia’s Goring Hotel, where the Duchess of Cambridge spent the night before her wedding, and nightclubs Tape and Peyote. ‘I like [fancy venues] because they’re too bouji to give a s*** about me,’ she says. ‘When I walk in, I am invisible. I’d rather go to Brixton, but if I do that and I try to get some Jamaican food, it’s going to be an event. So if I want a night off, I go hang with the people I would never hang with. I’m just in my bubble. Which I really enjoy about London.’ She also has a house in LA and a pied-a-terre in Paris, as well as a home at the One Sandy Lane resort (right) in her native Barbados, which is a far cry from the one she grew up in (above right).
