LOCKDOWN LOOK

Hip hip hooray, the time has come I’ve waited for all week, Have felt down in the dumps because These days are rather bleak.

With lockdown I can’t meet with friends, For chatty cups of tea, Or visits to the cinema, Or bus tours that are free.

Right now, to pass the time, I clean Just anything in sight, And sort out clothes to give away, When everything comes right.

I put the music on TV, To exercise a bit, But nothing on the floor, of course, I’m not that flipping fit.

My fridge is running short of food, Will have to eke it out, For should the milk come to an end, I’ll be right up the spout.

A neighbour’s offered to give help, Which is so very kind, But with my independent streak, I hate to be a bind.

However now this time has come, I’m in a happy spin, Perhaps I’ll dress up for my trip Down to the rubbish bin.
