TWITTER BOSS TELLS STAFF: WORK FROM HOME FOREVER

-

TWITTER has told its staff they can work from home forever. Chief executive Jack Dorsey (pictured) said the company’s 5,100 workforce, including 200 in London, does not have to return to the office after the pandemic has passed.

The US-based social network was one of the first firms to send employees home and said it thinks the move has worked.

It said: ‘If our employees are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home and they want to continue to do so forever, we will make that happen. If not, our offices will be their warm and welcoming selves, with some additional precautions, when it’s safe to return.’

Twitter said it did not expect to reopen its offices until September.

Even then, there would be no requirement to return. It said: ‘It will be careful, intentional, office by office and gradual. That will remain our top priority as we work through the unknowns of the coming months.’

Rival tech giants Google and Facebook have told staff they could work from home until the end of the year.
