FREEVIEW MOVIE Dark Shadows, 7pm, Sony Movies FILM version of a TV series that was a hit in America, but little-seen here. Johnny Depp is Barnabas Collins, cursed to live as a vampire by a spurned lover — and witch (Eva Green).

OUT OF THIS WORLD Secrets Of The Solar System, 8pm, Yesterday THIS detailed new, eight-part tour takes us up close to the sun and the planets, as well as explaining how we know so much about them: the many probes we’ve sent over the years. In terms of human history, it’s amazing to think how quickly all this exploration has actually taken place.

SCI-FI ACTION Alita: Battle Angel, 8pm, Sky Premiere POST-APOCALYPTIC adventure based on a Japanese manga series. Rosa Salazar (pictured) plays the android brought back to life by Christoph Waltz’s scientist, and realising that she was previously a fearsome warrior.

TELLY TALK Kermode And Mayo’s Home Entertainment Service, 8.30pm, BBC4 MARK KERMODE famously doesn’t watch much TV — he’s a film man, after all — so it’s going to be interesting to see him turning his film critic’s eye to TV in a new series recorded from his and Simon Mayo’s homes. First up: The Eddy and Normal People.

LAST-EVER EPISODE Modern Family, 8.30pm, Sky One THE very last episode of a comedy that walked a tricky line between sharpness and sweetness for 11 seasons, and won 22 Emmys along the way. There’s change for everyone — but particularly Phil, Claire (Julie Bowen, pictured), Cam and Mitchell — in this emotional send-off.

IBIZA THRILLER White Lines, Netflix IN THIS sun-soaked, music-packed drama set on Ibiza, the long-dead body of a Manchester DJ is found, and his unstable sister, Zoe (magnetically played by Laura Haddock), goes on a journey through the island’s clubland to learn what happened.

CRIME SQUAD NCIS, 9pm, Fox THE season finale is NCIS through and through — it’s all about war, and what it takes away from people. At the heart of it is a growling performance from Christopher Lloyd as an elderly man with big demands, and so much personal stature that he can get away with calling Gibbs ‘son’. And McGee? Well, he’s a ‘schmuck’.

STRANGE PLACES Expedition X, 10pm, Discovery THE explorer Josh Gates has seen some weird things in his time and, for this new series, he’s assembled a crack team to investigate further. The first case takes them to an island filled with creepy dolls, which paranormal expert Jessica Chobot has wanted to visit for a long time.

COOKING & COMEDY Big Zuu’s Big Eats, 10pm, Dave THE grime artist Big Zuu (pictured) is also a cook, and has a very natural way of talking to people. He puts the last two talents to good use in this new series, in which he chats to and feeds comics. His first guest is Jimmy Carr, and he knows just where to start: ‘He’s posh, and all posh people like truffles.’
