Don’t get your knickers in a twist! Ramsay goads locals

-

HE is famed for his foul-mouthed tirades at budding cooks and striking fear into restaurant owners.

But now Scots TV chef Gordon Ramsay has turned to goading his neighbours following a backlash over his lockdown ‘escape to the country’.

The 53-year-old risked further wrath when he told Cornish locals not to get their ‘knickers in a twist’, just weeks after facing widespread criticism for leaving London to spend lockdown in his £4million beachside home at Trebetherick.

Posting on Instagram, Ramsay, from Johnstone, Renfrewshire, shared the result of his virtual bike race on the cycling app Zwift, in which he competed against 2,500 other riders.

In the clip, shared with his 8.9million followers, he said: ‘King Of The Mountain done. Bloody hell. What a race. Tough ride. Long climb.’

Ramsay then joked about the number of competitors taking part: ‘2,500 riders. Relax neighbours! Don’t get your knickers in a twist, it’s all indoors.

‘What a frikkin workout that is. Not about speed, about determination, guts to get that.’

The irascible chef revealed that in the 54-minute cycle he burnt 519 calories, and went on to thank participants who had helped to raise money for his charity The Gordon and Tana Ramsay Foundation and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

In March, when the lockdown began, Ramsay and a host of other stars came under fire for ‘fleeing’ to second houses and holiday homes in idyllic locations.
