THE lives and loves of GPs in the Peak District were the business of this ITV drama, which ran from 1993 to 2002. This is the first of a weekday repeat from the start, when the cast included Kevin Whately and Amanda Burton as Dr Kerruish and Dr Glover, medics with an instant spark.

COMMUTER BELT The Architectu­re The Railways Built, 8pm, Yesterday

ONE of this week’s subjects is particular­ly close to Tim Dunn’s heart. It’s the suburban estates built by the Metropolit­an Railway in the London commuter belt, where he grew up. We meet his parents (pictured with Tim), and see a picture of him with his first train set, ‘about to explode with joy’.

THE afterlife of retired planes is revealed in an unexpected­ly compelling new series filmed at a scrapyard in Wales. We learn that more than 90 per cent of a plane is recycled, witness the arrival of an Airbus A319, and watch as the team ready a fuselage to be shipped off for filming in a TV series.

CHRISTIAN and Maria organise an anniversar­y party for his parents in tonight’s episode, and the tension between the arranged Romany couple is thick. ‘I have to cut you off in order for me to talk,’ protests Maria to her reputation­conscious partner at the venue. Meanwhile, Meghan has a banana pudding emergency.
