Wilson’s Warriors tenure starts early
DANNY WILSON will take over as Glasgow Warriors head coach on Monday, a month earlier than planned. His arrival ends Dave Rennie’s three years at the helm and frees him up to concentrate on his new role as head coach of the Australian national team. Rennie, who will remain in Scotland until it is safe and convenient for him to fly to Sydney amid the coronavirus pandemic, said: ‘With no rugby to be played in the next few weeks, it makes sense for Danny to take charge now. ‘I’ve been impressed with Danny. I know he’ll do a great job and he’s highly regarded by our Scottish internationals.’ Wilson, who had been Scotland forwards coach, said: ‘Dave, his staff and players have done a great job, and leave a solid platform to develop this squad for the future.’
