Live mu­sic back drive-in gigs

CINE­MAS and live mu­sic venues may still be out of bounds but Scots will still be able to en­joy some en­ter­tain­ment this sum­mer.

A se­ries of drive-in events will in­clude movies, ‘car-a-oke’ sing-alongs, bingo, silent dis­cos, live bands, quizzes, com­edy and food, all with so­cial dis­tanc­ing mea­sures in place.

The Park­ing Lot So­cial fes­tiv­i­ties will be in Ed­in­burgh, Glas­gow, Aberdeen, Perth, Dundee and In­ver­ness in Au­gust and Septem­ber and will cater for up to 250 cars each night. A ‘So­cial Kids’ event will have an ear­lier start time.

Au­dio will be trans­mit­ted to ve­hi­cles via wire­less head­phones and a ded­i­cated FM ra­dio chan­nel.

Josh Kin­ner­s­ley, of or­gan­is­ers XL Event Lab, said: ‘It re­ally feels like ev­ery­one could do with a bit of fun.’
